Chris Donald (born 25 April 1960 in Newcastle, England) is the founding father of, and certainly one of many principal contributors to, the British comic journal Viz. He attended West Jesmond Main College,[1] after which Heaton Complete College, the place he failed his A-levels. In 1978 he began work as a clerical officer on the DHSS central office in Longbenton, Newcastle.

In an interview on Channel 4 Information, Chris Donald paid tribute to Spike Milligan on his demise. He cited him and Monty Python as the two essential influences on the comic.

Chris, collectively alongside together with his brother Simon and a schoolfriend Jim Brownlow, organize Viz in December 1979 from a mattress room in Jesmond, Newcastle. He was editor (or head of the “editorial cabinet”) for a couple of years nevertheless retired from day-to-day duties in 1999, and now solely contributes occasional cartoons. He has since written a personal historic previous of Viz journal entitled Impolite Children.
